Prior to joining Swagel Wootton Hiatt Eye Centers in January of 2007, Shane Theobald, OD. received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Human Biology at Brigham Young University.  His fervent interest in primary eye care led him to the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors and received the Salutatorian academic achievement award.

 

Following his distinguished academic career, Dr. Theobald completed his clinical externship programs for primary eye care at the Navy base hospital in Millington, TN and a private practice, specializing in contact lenses in Bartlett, TN.  Dr. Theobald's primary focus in eye care includes: primary eye care, treatment and management of eye disease including glaucoma, co-management of cataract and refractive surgery, and he is a leading authority in the fitting and prescribing of specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Theobald is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association and enjoys playing golf almost as much as spending time with his wife Kayleen and his three children, Tyler, Paige and Morgan.
